“SADOY TURKISTON” (“Voice of Turkestan”) is a socio-political, literary and artistic newspaper of our time. Published in Uzbek in Tashkent from April 4, 1914 to April 10, 1915. The newspaper was founded by Ubaidullahodzha Asadullahodzhaev (Khojaev) and acted under his editorship. The newspaper is published once a week on 4 pages.
The editorial board of the newspaper was formed by Munavvarkori Abdurashidkhanov, Abdulla Avloni, Abdurauf Muzaffarov - leading figures in Uzbek educational literature and journalism of the early twentieth century. They also wrote the main articles that determined the image of the newspaper.
“Sadoi Turkestan” consistently promoted such noble ideas as patriotism, nationalism and enlightenment, and boldly raised issues related to the spiritual and moral foundations of independent Turkestan and its prospects. Sadoi Turkestan was at the forefront of national print media of that time. The newspaper's activities ceased due to financial difficulties (a total of 66 issues were published).
