Shoroi Islamiya ("Council of Islam") is a public organization (Society) of the progressive intelligentsia of Turkestan. It was formed on March 14, 1917 in Tashkent and operated until the spring of 1918. Abdulvahidkori Abduraufkori was elected Chairman first, and then Ubaidullahuja Asadullahudjaev. Such educators as Munavvarkari Abdurashidkhanov, Mahmudhoja Behbudi, Mustafa Chokai, Ahmad Zaki Walidi, Islam Sultan Shoakhmedov, Tashpulat Norbotabekov actively participated in the activities of the organization. On the initiative of the organization, the 1st All-Turkestan Muslim Congress was held (April 1917). The program of the organization adopted at the congress set the task of spreading the ideas of reforms among the Muslims of the region, uniting all Muslims of the region on the basis of a common opinion and Maslak, and fighting for giving Turkestan the status of autonomy. Already in April 1917, branches of the organization were established in the cities of Samarkand, Kokand, Namangan, Andijan, Margilan, Skobelev (Ferghana), Marv, Turkestan, Akmolinsk, Osh, etc. A gas organization called Shoroy Islam. also released. In 1917, 3 more congresses of Muslims of Turkestan were held. However, disagreements between the progressive intelligentsia (Jadids) and some scientists (ancients) who were supporters of old age led to the fact that "Sho'roi Islomiya" which led to bias in the ranks of the organization. In June 1917, a group of scientists stood out from the organization, who founded a new society in Kokand and Tashkent - Shoroi Ulama. Although it was announced at the Congress of Muslims of Turkestan and Kazakhstan in Tashkent (September 17-20, 1917) that all 2 organizations had joined together, in fact there was no literal unification. After the October revolution, "Sho'roi Islomiya" He was forced to move his residence from Tashkent to Kokand (November 1917). The members of the organization took an active part in the formation of the government of the Turkestan autonomy. When the autonomy government was overthrown by the Bolsheviks, the surviving "Sho'roi Islomiya" members were persecuted. "Sho'roi Islomiya" despite the fact that the organization was banned by the Soviet regime, its activists such as Nasirkhan Tora, Sadriddin Khan Sharifkhojaev, Mirodil Mirzaakhmedov and others joined the ranks of the armed movement against the Soviet regime in Turkestan acting as ideologists of the independence movement.
