DJIZAK CITY

Jizzakh, like many other cities of Central Asia, had to endure many conquests, but each time the city was restored. The Mongol invasion almost completely destroyed the defensive fortifications of the city. During the reign of Timur, the city was rebuilt and acquired its former grandeur, which did not prevent Sheibanikhan from destroying it during the conquest of Maverannahr.
